The Battle of Lepanto is an incredible story about an epic 16th century battle between Catholic and Ottoman navies.  Our Lady played a critical role in the victory by a numerically inferior Catholic coalition over a near invincible Islamic naval force, which solidified the lines of Christian Europe that we recognize today.  EVERY Catholic should know this story.  We commemorate Our Lady’s role in this victory every October 7^th ,the Feast day of Our Lady of the Rosary.
