Ordained in 1985 as a Benedictine monk, Father Bartholomew “Bart” Leon received special permission from the Vatican to celebrate liturgies in both Latin and Maronite rites. He became the founding pastor of St. Rafka Maronite Church in Greer, South Carolina, where he helped grow a vibrant and diverse faith community. Fluent in English, Arabic, and Aramaic liturgical traditions, Father Bart has served as a bridge between cultures, uniting parishioners of various backgrounds through the beauty of the Eastern Catholic liturgy. His leadership and commitment to spiritual service have made him a beloved figure in the Maronite and broader Catholic communities.
